I want to start using Schaeffer oil for my Harkey. I am wondewring which oil is better to use in the transmission. I read all over the Harley forums that you can use either a gear oil or a staright weight SAE 50. What do you recommend I use in the transmission? I have no problem using the #707 20W-50 in the engine and primary, but what do you recommend for the transmission? Any other information related to this would be greatly appreciated and thank you too for your time.
There are three choices for the transmission oil depending on your model as follows:
Transmission: Twin Cam, Evo, Ironhead, Sportster, V-Rod
Recommendation: #707 Schaeffer Supreme V-Twin Synthetic Plus 20W-50
Transmission: Flathead, Knucklehead, Panhead, Shovelhead
Recommendation: #110 Schaeffer Micron Moly Racing Oil SAE 50 or #214s Schaeffer Supreme One For All 80W-140 The 214S is great for extended drain intervals if you are in to saving time, money and hel;ping the environment.
All prices are in USD.
